Shi-Yu Chen
Shi-Yu Chen was born in Taipei and currently lives in Taichung. He graduated from the Experimental Class of Fine Art (now renamed as the Department of Fine Arts), Fu-Hsin Trade and Arts School, and used to be a project art designer for Solidart Graphic Design and the documentary of Huang Shu-Mei. In recent years, Chen pays attention to photography serving as an independent creative expression. He heard from others that “photography is the edge of art,” which he considers a proper description of photography’s position and nature; however, he sees reality beyond this “edge” of art as what’s truly interesting.
